 Meryl Norton Hearst Lecture by Patti Warashina
7:30 pm - 8:30 pm, KAB 111. Patti Warashina is a ceramic sculptor who will lecture in conjunction with the UNI Gallery of Art exhibition “Tell Me a Story: Contemporary Narrative Ceramics,” which runs Feb. 9 - Mar. 3, 2010. Her work may be found in museum collections in the United States, Australia, South Korea and Japan, and she has been the recipient of awards from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Ford Foundation.  Meryl Norton Hearst Lecture by Matthew Woolman

Matthew Woolman is founder and principal of Plaid Studios, an intermedia design, development, and production company, and he is the author of seven books including “Motion Design” and “Type in Motion.” Woolman has received awards from Print Magazine, AIGA and the Art Director’s Club and been reproduced in How, Etapes Graphiques, Print, and Graphis magazines.  Meryl Norton Hearst Lecture by Anna Gaskell
7:30 pm - 8:30 pm, KAB 111. Des Moines native Anna Gaskell is best known for her large-format color photographs, which have been described as “rich with suggestion of awakening and ritual with an undercurrent of sexual tension.” Her work was included in “Visions from America: Photographs from the Whitney Museum of American Art” and “Moving Pictures” at the Guggenheim Museum in New York and Bilboa, Spain.
