Using Various Document Types

Throughout the MyUNIverse site users will find documents for downloading in the following formats:

	Excel Format Documents requiring calculations are often available in Excel format. You may print the completed Excel document or save it on your computer for later retrieval.
	HTML Format Documents available in HTML format may be printed by clicking on the Print button within your browser.
	On-Line Format The most efficient method of completing a form is on-line. When you complete an on-line form, the data is submitted electronically via a secure server. Manual processing is reduced or eliminated, speeding up the processing of the form considerably. You are encouraged to take advantage of the on-line forms whenever available. Additional on-line forms will be added as this site develops. Specific instructions regarding each on-line form are available from within the form.
	PDF Format If you want to simply print out a document, choose the PDF file. PDF files retain the exact look of the original document. PDF files can be printed directly from the Web or downloaded to your computer for later retrieval. Note: You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your machine to view and print PDF files. 	Word Format For filling out and saving a copy of a completed form on your computer or for retaining a form template for future use, Word format is your best bet. Many of the Word documents have been designed to allow the user to fill in the blanks on a form at your computer without altering the structure of the form itself. Word documents have the added functionality of pre-programmed field checking and calculations. You may print the completed Word document or save it on your computer for later retrieval.
